- First, the question was about the _goals_ of Eiffel; specifically that
- it was _intended_ to be a language independent PDL. If you have
- evidence that Meyer designed Eiffel to be an _implementation_ language
- independent _specification/design_ language, I would like to see it as
- it would conflict with many things Meyer has stated elsewhere.
- Whether it can be used as such was _not_ the issue. Many things can
- be used as such. Personally, I think the calculus presented by Gries
- in the _Science of Programming_ is much more capable than Eiffel in
- this respect.
